Omega Farms Brand – Not all Omegas are the same

• Omega Farms dairy products are a pure and direct source of both EPA and DHA, and provide 75mg per serving. Omega-3s are critical to good health but are not produced in the body and must be obtained from the diet. Due to low consumption of fish, experts warn 80% of people do not get enough Omegas in their diet.
• Certain Omega-3 fatty acids, docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), exist naturally in fish and fish oil. Fish and fish oil are the best source of Omega-3s. Omega Farms uses purified Norwegian cod oil that is taste- and odor-free and certified for use in organic foods.

• Studies suggest deficiency in Omega-3 fatty acids may contribute to behavior and learning difficulties including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), dyslexia, Dyspraxia/developmental coordination disorder (DCD), autistic spectrum disorders, and is thought to play a role in asthma.
• Omega-3’s have been shown to reduce the incidence of cardiovascular disease and to protect the heart against inflammation that can lead to a sudden heart attack. There is growing evidence that Omega 3’s avert strokes, reduce inflammation and joint pain from arthritis, and are even being researched for effectiveness in slowing the progression of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson diseases.
• Omega-3s are also used to treat depression and bipolar disorder.
• The American Heart Association recommends 2-3 servings of fatty fish per week, for 1,000 mg of Omega-3, which is the equivalent of consuming 2-3 Omega Farms Dairy products per day. The American Heart Association’s Nutrition Committee has concluded that Omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to reduce the incidence of cardiovascular disease.
• Although there is no recommended daily allowance in the U.S., the International Society for the Study of Fatty Acids and Lipids recommends 650 mg of EPA and DHA for adults based on a 2,000 calorie diet.
• Most modern diets are deficient in Omega-3s. Until a few years ago, the most popular source of these nutrients was cold water, fatty fish. Consumption, however, has declined considerably with growing education of consumers that many of these fish contain mercury, a highly toxic chemical.
• In fact, the average can of tuna fish contains 17 micrograms of methylmercury. A single ounce of swordfish can have 30 micrograms or more.
• More than 8,000 research publications support the health claims of EPA and DHA. Only Calciumhas as much scientific evidence for the importance in human health.
