Win Your Dream BabyMOOn!

Feeling tired? Nauseous? Anxious about having a baby? Or, worn out from the demands of your new little bundle of joy? Sounds like you are in need of a babyMOOn. The celebrities are doing it, so why shouldn’t you?

It’s one of the latest travel trends for expectant couples needing a romantic getaway – some quiet time before their lives change forever – or for new parents, it’s a nice family vacation with their newborn bundle. And Omega Farms is giving mommies and mommies-to-be the chance to win their own dream babyMOOn!

Beginning on March 6 and continuing through Labor Day (of course!), expectant parents and those who have recently been paid a visit from the stork, can log on to www.MegsOmegaFarms.com
to enter the Omega Farms’ babyMOOn sweepstakes to receive complete details about the contest. No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited.

All they have to do is submit their idea of a dream babyMOOn vacation – whether it’s a relaxing spa, a remote cabin in the mountains or a beachfront resort – anywhere in the United States. It’s that simple! Omega Farms takes care of the rest including travel and accommodations.

Omega Farms, the producer of a new high-quality line of dairy products with Omega-3 fatty acids, understands the importance of prenatal health. Not only do pregnant women need a healthy mind and body – thus the relaxing babyMOOn – but also a healthy diet for themselves and the development of their baby.

Omega-3s are especially important for moms-to-be and nursing mothers. High intakes of Omega-3s during pregnancy have been associated with better brain function, improved learning, decreased hyperactivity and reduced symptoms of depression and asthma. Studies also show that moms who take Omega-3 fatty acids have babies with better vision.

Yet, according to Dr. Artemis Simopoulos, M.D., 80 percent of women and children do not get enough Omega-3s and 72 percent have no idea how to get DHA in their diet (Source: Kelton Research for the Society for Women’s Health Research).

The most important Omega-3s are found in oily, cold-water fish, but most pregnant women are advised by their doctors to limit their intake of fish due to concerns about contaminants. As a result, it is imperative that pregnant women find alternative sources of Omega-3s.

To help address this issue, Omega Farms recently launched the first full line of dairy products with Omega-3s in the United States, giving parents a nutritious, delicious and convenient source of these “good fats.”

Ask the Nutritionist

Nutritionist Cindy DiFerdinand, M.S. is the
Nutrition Director of Omega Farms.

If you have any questions for Cindy about Omega Farms products or Omega-3s, please visit

Q: I’m newly pregnant and hearing a lot about Omega-3 fatty acids. Are they important to the health and development of my baby?
- Jayme Cary, age 30, Denver, CO

A: It’s great that you’re hearing about Omega-3 fatty acids because they are extremely beneficial to your health as well as the development of your unborn child, and 80 percent of women and children do not get enough Omega-3s
in their diet.

Studies have shown that moms who take Omega-3 fatty acids while pregnant have babies with better vision, as well as improved hand-eye coordination, language skills, and behavior. Plus, once you have your baby, Omega-3s can reduce possible symptoms of depression.

Since your body doesn’t naturally produce Omega-3 fatty acids, you must supplement. One of the easiest ways to do that is by eating dairy products with Omega-3s, such as Omega Farms milk, cheese and yogurt.

Q: When I became pregnant, my doctor told me to limit my intake of fish, which is a staple of my diet. Is there another way to replace those nutrients, such as the Omega-3 fatty acids?
- Nicole Keefe, age 30, San Jose, CA

A: Your doctor is right to limit the amount of fish you eat while you’re pregnant because there are concerns about contaminants in fish. But, you are also right because you do need to continue getting many of the nutrients you get from fish, especially the Omega-3 fatty acids.

In addition to vitamin supplements, there are some delicious ways for you to add those essential nutrients to your diet. Omega Farms recently introduced a full line of dairy products with all-natural Omega-3s. In fact, one serving of Omega Farms milk, cheese or yogurt provides 75 mg of EPA and DHA Omega-3 derived from purified fish oil – the best source of Omegas – that is completely taste and odor free.
